The Department of Civil Engineering in VVIT was established in the year 2009. Over the years, it has grown into one of the finest centers of learning in the field of civil engineering. The post graduate courses offered features among the top M.Tech colleges in Bangalore. The Department aims to bring out engineers equipped with the latest technical skills & global exposure who are ready to handle any sort of practical issue with ease with their solid theoretical background.

The Department has been very proactive in industrial interaction and technology development. It has built excellent experimental and computational facilities related to Hydraulics, Geotechnical, Structural and Environmental Engineering fields. One of the oldest branches of Engineering, 'Civil Engineering', known as the 'Mother of all Engineering', deals with the development of basic infrastructure required for the sustenance of the society. The department of Civil Engineering at V.V.I.T. offers Diploma in Civil Engineering, Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and Master's Degree in Structural Engineering & Construction Technology. The department boasts of a dynamic team of faculty with the right mix of highly experienced and enthusiastic youngsters.
