The Department of Civil Engineering at VVIT, established in 2009, has grown into a distinguished hub for civil engineering education. Recognized among the top M.Tech programs in Bangalore, the department is committed to nurturing engineers with advanced technical expertise and global awareness. These graduates are equipped to tackle practical challenges confidently, thanks to their robust theoretical foundation. Welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering, one of the oldest and most fundamental branches of engineering, often referred to as the “Mother of all Engineering,” is integral to building the essential infrastructure that supports society. At VVIT, the Department of Civil Engineering offers a comprehensive range of programs, including a Diploma in Civil Engineering, a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, and a Master’s Degree specializing in Structural Engineering and Construction Technology.

The department is led by a dedicated team of faculty members, combining seasoned experts and dynamic young educators, under the guidance of our Principal, a Doctorate in Civil Engineering. With a strong industrial background among the faculty, the curriculum emphasizes a hands-on approach to learning, fostering practical knowledge and skills. The department takes pride in fostering a collaborative and open environment where students and faculty engage in free exchange of ideas and knowledge.

Equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, the department places significant importance on developing students’ software proficiency, addressing the growing demand for technical skills in modern engineering. The International Conference on Civil Engineering (ICCE-2014) organized as part of International Multi-Conference on Innovations in Engineering & Technology jointly by Vijaya Vittala Institute of Technology in association with Society of Information Processing (SIP) was successfully held on 21st – 23rd August 2014. The theme of ICCE-2014 was Special Concrete and Construction Technology. The Conference saw over 150 participants from India & abroad with over 36 papers presented by research scholars from various reputed institutes in India and even from countries like Australia. The Conference proceedings where brought out as a Special publication by Elsevier India.

International Conference on Concrete and Construction Technology (ICCCT- 2015) was organized at VVIT on 3rd & 4th December 2015. ICCCT-2015 is the International Conference in its series aimed at stimulating technical exchange among Scientists and Engineers and capture highly innovative and state of the art Research Papers in the emerging field of Construction Technology and Concrete Mixtures. The Conference saw over 100 delegates participating from all across India. The conference included Keynote Address by eminent personalities & paper presentation by research scholars and postgraduate students from various institutions across India. The Conference proceedings where brought out as a Special publication by Tata Mc Graw Hill.
