Prof. N.R. Shetty had a brilliant academic career and obtained his B.Sc. (Honours) in Physics with Electronics as a special subject from Madras University, M.Sc. (Opto-Electronics) from University of Essex (U.K.) and Ph.D. from Dept. of Electrical Engineering of IIT Bombay. He has over thirty five years of teaching experience at Post Graduate Level and Research Experience in the areas of Microwave Engineering, Quantum and Opto Electronics, Solid State Physical Electronics, etc. He had held the position of Professor and Principal of Karnataka Regional Engineering College, Surathkal, Vice-Chancellor (two terms) of Bangalore University, Member Secretary and Chief Executive, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi.
Prof.N.R. Shetty has published over thirty papers in International/National Journals and edited ten proceedings which include proceedings of ISTE Winter/Summer Schools for teachers in the areas of Microwave and Communication Engineering and Entrepreneurship Development. He was the recipient of Shiromani Vikas Award (1993), Bharat Vikas Award (1996), Bhargava Award (1997) and Bharat Ratna Sir M.V. National Parisara Ratna Award (1999).
Dr. L M Patnaik
Vice Chancellor, Defence University Pune
Dr. L M Patnaik is a Vice Chancellor, Defense Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune, India. He was a Professor since 1986 with the Department of Computer Science and Automation, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. During the past 35 years of his service at the Institute he has over 500 research publications in refereed International Journals and Conference Proceedings. He is a Fellow of all the four leading Science and Engineering Academies in India; Fellow of the IEEE and the Academy of Science for the Developing World.
He has received twenty national and international awards; notable among them is the IEEE Technical Achievement Award for his significant contributions to high performance computing and soft computing. His areas of research interest have been parallel and distributed computing, mobile computing, CAD for VLSI circuits, soft computing, and computational neuroscience. Dr. K.R Venugopal

Dr. K R Venugopal is currently the Principal, University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, Bangalore University, Bangalore. He obtained his Bachelor of Engineering from University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering in 1979. He received his Masters degree in Computer Science and Automation from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He was awarded Ph.D in Economics from Bangalore University and Ph.D in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He has a distinguished academic career and has degrees in Electronics, Economics, Law, Business Finance, Public Relations, Communications, Industrial Relations, Computer Science and Journalism. He has authored 27 books on Computer Science and Economics, which include Petrodollar and the World Economy, C Aptitude, Mastering C, Microprocessor Programming, Mastering C++ etc.
He has been serving as the Professor and Chairman, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, Bangalore University, Bangalore. During his three decades of service at UVCE he has over 200 research papers to his credit. He has guided 12 Ph.Ds and more than 200 Post Graduate students. Dr. H N Shivashankar, formerly Chairman of Department of Electronics and Computer Science and also Dean faculty of engineering of Bangalore University His expertise in the field of Engineering supported by over 3 decades of research and teaching Visited USA as a FulBright Scholar for 3 months , Worked with Victor K. Prasanna, under parallel Processing group, Delivered lectures at various places and forums, one of them was on Multiple Valued Logic, the televised lecture for 3 hours at USC, Los Angeles and another at University of IRVINE under Mr. Kane Kim group during 1991.
